O Majestic Ramadhan Moon,
Appearing as He throws the veil of night over the day.
Coyly smiling at all the attention you are attracting.
A blush of pink appears on your expanding form,
A tint of a golden glow ordained in cosmic mansions.
Your encounters with all the Heavenly bodies
Prescribing order
Preventing chaos.
Your script reveals the next forgiving phase.
Preceded by rains of Mercy,
Having fallen on floods of tears,
The Almighty Willing,
Prepares you for the third and final act of this celestial dance.
A promised freedom
From the fiercest of Fires.
O Majestic Ramadhan Moon,
Surely you also hear our cries.
Certainly you see our parched hunger
For Him,
Who created all with Truth.
Signs manifest for a people who discern.
Throngs seeking the Divine order you portray and convey.
His is the creation and the command.
Blessed is Allah, the Lord of the worlds.
O Majestic Ramadhan Moon,
We see you peeking through the open dome of Masjid Nabawi.
Glimpsing the empty shelves.
All Mushaf held aloft as audible whispers
Sing His Words.
Is that a secret wish
To be in the Taraweeh Saff?
Bowing, prostrating, praising,
Blessing the beloved whose whole being is light, SallAllahu alaihi wasallam?
Or do I see you turning your glance
To The House?
Magnetized by the constant circling rhythm.
O Majestic Ramadhan Moon,
How do you remain so poised
Surrounded by a flurry of Angels festooning
The Eternal Gardens of Delight?
Is the breeze I feel the fluttering of their wings
As they adorn Ar-Rayyan,
Or is it the rustling of the green silk brocade as garments are prepared?
Is the gentle sound I hear from the tinkling of bracelets,
Or of gold and silver goblets, or crystal?
Is the exuding fragrance of musk, camphor and Oud
Spilling from our Lasting Home?
Where we will see our Rabb
Just as we see you when you are full?
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.
