GHAFLAH, through negligence, or forgetfulness towards the commands of Allah Ta’ala, and not steadfastly trying to bring the Sunnah of our Beloved Rasulullah SallAllahu alaihi wassalam into our lives, our ego is inflated. This inflated ego wants to demean others, so it feels even more important, which leads to GHEEBAH. GHEEBAH, putting others down, in a myriad of open and secretive tactics, further boosts our own self, blinding one to seeing the Truth. This increasingly leads to GHURUR silently creeping into the heart. GHURUR stubbornly blocks one seeing the goodness in others which ultimately leads to GHIL. And surely jealousy, malice, eats up good deeds just as the fire consumes dry wood.

(Wisdom from an Alim recently visiting Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah)

The Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wassalam said: "Should you wish to act, ponder well the consequences. If good, proceed; if not, desist." Ibn al-Mubarak.

JazakiLlahu khairan dear Asiyah for your expressive prayer mat drawing. May we be reminded of its symbolism and resort to all means provided for us by our Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wassalam, the perfection of character, to work at eradicating our hearts of the "four ghains"; crying in our Du’a, weeping in Taubah, sobbing in Istighfar, rejoicing while in Khidmah, smiling while offering Ikram. Hearts then will be overflowing with Sakinah and satisfaction. Insha’Allah.

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

You have opened the flood gate of memories Maryam! Alhumdilillah that Allah Ta’ala has created us with an inner screen and replay buttons to relive such happy sharing. Or maybe your memory of all the “red roses” all over your work is not so happy! LOL!
