The Spider
There are signs in the heavens and the earth for those who believe….in the creatures Allah scattered on earth, there are signs for people of sure faith. (45:4)
Those who take protectors other than Allah can be compared to spiders building themselves houses, the spider’s is the frailest of houses, if only they could understand. (29:41)
"What excellent qualities and noble deeds the cave contained (in it).
While every eye (of the disbelievers) was blind to him.
The truth (sidq) and the true (siddique) in the cave were not seen (by the disbelievers).
And they were saying "There is no one in the cave".
They thought a wild dove and a spider would not
Lay an egg or spin a web for the best of creation."
Qasidah Burdah, Allamah Sharafud-deen Abu Abdullah Muhammad bin Hasan Al-Busairi.
Such an honour from our Rabb and Creator, for the spider, seeking His orders to execute, submitting totally to His Will. Such an honour for that spider to have spun a web to protect our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wassalam and his faithful companion, Abu Bakr As-Siddiq, RadhiAllahu anhu!
And according to Al-Qurtubi RahmatuLlah alaihi, Allah Ta’ala also inspired the spider to spin a web around Dawud Alaihis Sallam when Jalut was trying to kill him.

SUBHANALLAH! SUBHANALLAH! SUBHANALLAH!
Photograph by Dennis Kunkel from this fascinating explanation as to why spiders are not trapped in their own sticky web.
Excerpts from a Tafseer of the above verse from Surah Ankabut: "The spider has three pairs of prominent moving protrusions in the lower abdomen. These protrusions have tiny holes from which the fluid used to make the threads for its house comes out; therefore, they are known as the spinners. This fluid which comes out from a number of special glands to outside the spider’s body, through the rear spinners, dries as soon as it is subjected to air. When it dries, various threads are produced which differ in types, length, and strength according to the difference in the producing glands."
Continuning…comparing the physical weakness of the actual web to the incredible strength of the spun silk forming the web…."Despite its delicacy, it is the strongest biological substance known to mankind so far. The silk threads which make up the spider’s web are considered stronger than steel, and their strength is surpassed only by the melted quartz. The thin thread stretches to five times its length before it is cut. Therefore, the scientists call it “biological steel” or “bio-steel”. It is twenty times stronger than the ordinary metal steel. Its tolerance measures 300,000 pound for the square inch. Hypothetically speaking, should there be a thick rope of the spider’s threads, in the size of the thumb, it can easily carry a "jumbo" jet."
SUBHANALLAH! SUBHANALLAH! SUBHANALLAH!
A visual feast of "Iman boosting" spider webs!, and more here, look at the Banana Spider!
And a Harun Yahya online book delving deeply into the Miracle in the Spider. The illustrations and explanations detailing the architecture, engineering and methods of prey truly are:
…… signs in the heavens and the earth for those who believe….in the creatures Allah scattered on earth, there are signs for people of sure faith. (45:4)
May we all be of those who believe; people of certainty, of sure faith, pondering on the Greatness of Allah Ta’ala’s creation in its every detail. Ameen.
May we too, seek His Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala orders to excute, totally submitting to His Will, Ameen.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

Assalamu Alaikum,
Some thing to BOGGLE your mind!!!!!!!
In 2001 an Alice springs man got bitten by a red back spider more than twenty times on his bottom
and had to take 16 doses of antivenene before he recovered. The man who was only 25
said that he believed that the spider had craweled up his jeans while visiting an outside toilet
and had then craweled up into his bed at night!!!!!!!!!!
All shukr to Allah {s.w.t}for all of our blessed duas to be said before entering the toilet and also
before retiring to sleep.
Jazakallah

Assalamu alaikum Ukhti Farah, so blessed we are to have the respect and fascination of the Makhlooq of Allah Ta’ala. Interesting how we have “favourites” and other creepy crawlies that evoke a wince….like those critters in the rice in some countries!
Very Funny story Maryam! I think there was a song written about such a “mishap”, maybe Grandpa will know? JazakiLlahu khairan for such an important reminder of the Masnoon Du’as we have been taught by our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wassalam. May we be in Allah Ta’ala’s protection in all circumstances, Ameen.
Wassalamu alaikum

Be Cautious About the Atheist Revolt in the EU!
The Council of Europe will debate whether Creationism should be allowed to be taught in schools. A recent report drawn up by French Socialists for the Committee on Culture, Science and Education stated that teaching of Creationism should be banned. This remark, reminding of the medieval suppressive mentality, is in fact a reflection of the panic materialists and atheists feel.
As we know, theory of evolution has again become a matter of debate in Europe after its receipt of Atlas of Creation by Harun Yahya in the last few months. The book, revealing the invalidity of evolution with concrete evidence, caused deep worries in materialist circles.
These circles, aware of the fact that irreligiousness and materialism will also collapse as the invalidity of Darwinism is recognized, are now trying with all their might not to let Creationism enter Europe. Indeed, such remarks along the lines “they are attacking the culture that we have patiently built up over many years” throughout the report are clear indication of their worry and desire to protect the materialist culture in Europe.
However, ideas cannot be prevented by prohibitions. The attempts of pro-evolution circles to ban all ideas but theirs by no means accord with the fundamental values of the Council. Both Creation and evolution should be taught in Europe, claiming to be the cradle of respect for human rights, democracy and thinking; individuals should be able to take free decisions of their own mind, reasoning and judgment, and seek the truth themselves. It’s not reasonable for someone to impose “The truth is evolution, you are not allowed to read or think about any other.”
You, too, can react to this restrictive mind-set and express your way of thinking. You can reach members of the Council of Europe at http://assembly.coe.int/ASP/AssemblyList/AL_MPSearchAlphaE.asp?initial=P.
Subject: It is Undemocratic to Ban Creationism
Regarding the resolution on “teaching creationism in education,” which will be put to a vote on June 26, we ask you to make a decision respecting democracy and human rights.
Thinking along the lines “under no circumstances may Creationism be taught” is nothing but the manifestation of a repressive mentality. What is compatible with democracy and human rights, however, is to let both evolution and Creation be taught, and let people decide, of their own free will, what is right. It is a medieval attitude for governments to forcibly dictate to their people what is right. Some circles seem to be determined to take Europe back to the Middle Age, for the sake of their ideologies. We kindly ask you not to be duped into this error.
