Ponder….

The prominence given to the date palm, specifically mentioned several times by Allah Ta’ala in His Book:

Then We cause to grow thereby gardens of palm trees and grapes for you; you have in them many fruits and from them do you eat. (23:19)

And the lofty date palm, with layers of fruit stalks, as sustenance for the servants. (50:10)

In them [both] will be fruits, and date palms and pomegranates. (55:68)

Ponder….

The date palms growing in Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah, like all things here, are doubly blessed by Allah Ta’ala.

Ponder..

owning your own Al-Madani date palms.

“Al-Madinah Treasures”, is a new investment project where one can buy your own date palms in an area 15 kms from Masjid Nabawi. Unfortunately the finer details do not appear in the article, and inquiries I have made in the past few days have not yet been answered.

For every SUBHANALLAH WA BIHAMDIH we utter, a tree is planted for us in Jannah!

Ponder…

the narration of ‘Abdullah bin Umar RadhiAllahu anhu who said that while sitting with the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam a branch of a date palm tree was brought to him. The Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam said, "There is a tree among the trees which is as blessed as a Muslim"

Have you not considered how Allah makes a simile in the form of a beneficial word, like a good tree with stable roots and its branches in heaven.  (14:24)

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

  1. Assalamualaikum sister, just the other day I too was reading the article regarding purchasing the date palm trees and had thought to ask if you’d heard anything about it… and subhanallah here you are blogging about it :) Anything to get closer to our beloved rasul salallahualaihiwasalam even if it is owning a single date palm in that majestic city! May Allah azawajal make our end better than our present, and may He make our present subservient to all His commands, ameen.

  2. Assalamu alaikum dear brother Ikramuddin,
Another Ameen thumma Ameen to your trademark Du’as!
The idea of having free access to such a huge date plantation so close to Al-Madinah stirs my heart too! I would like to know what varieties they plan to grow, as some do have direct links to the types planted by our beloved Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, and also if the investor is entitled to a share of the harvest proportional to their investment. The location is on the way to Makkah.
May Allah Ta’ala bless this endeavour, making it a source of goodness for all involved, Ameen.
    Wassalamu alaikum

  3. How much is SR 230 per day in US dollars? It sounds wonderful :) Is there a way to invest in the date palms and have the dates themselves, or the profits in some way, distributed to the poor in Mecca and Madinah? I know there are many poor during Hajj, and alleviating their hunger would be a better use for the blessed dates.

    Ya Haqq!

  4. Assalamu alaikum dear brother Irving, today’s exchange rate is US$3.800 for one Riyal…so approximately $68-9 per day which is reasonable cheap compared to one renting a room in such a location now. However one would have to go to the sites linked to ask the full price for the time share. Many buy into this scheme and rent the rooms in the years they themselves do not come for Umrah, making a huge profit.
I have emailed for more details re the date project, but like many things here, have as yet not heard anything. Dates take seven years before they mature and bear fruit, so this would have to be taken into account. A noble idea to give to the needy, which many of the farmers and dealers do, but Insha’Allah all efforts count. May your concern be the means of your Ajar to be raised higher and higher, Ameen.

I am very interested in investing in the date project. How would I do this? I live in London. Jazakhullah ul khair.

  6. Assalamu alaikum dear Sayeda, Insha’Allah once the information is passed onto me I will post it and email you as well. So far my emails to them have not been answered, which is “normal” for how slow things happen here regarding these matters.
