sunnah simplicity [Rainbows] — almiskeenah @ 6:25 pm

Colours dazzle and prance.

A spectacular dizzy dance,

As we rush to enhance

Ourselves with fancy dresses and pants.

Perchance

That others will glance.

Inducing a mesmerizing trance.

Fabrics and threads

Go to our heads

With orange, green, purple and reds.

Our dear Prophet said,

In your graves when you’re dead

Your clothes are white and dust is your bed.

So why not instead

Be as the Sahabah led?

May we be happy to dress,

 Not to impress,

Or creating a stress,

but striving for a little less.

Thus seeking a  caress

From the Only One who can bless.

Imagine how we will be,

Singing praises of glee,

As we are called “Ya Jannaty,

Enter My Garden in humility

For your Sunnah simplicity.”

Adorned in fine green silk brocade.

Jewellery of gold and silver made.

With rubies, emeralds, coral and jade.

An Eternity that will never fade.

JazakumuLlahu khairan to the students of Darul Khair Home School, for their delightful clothing designs. May they be blessed with the richest of adornments in Jannah, Ameen.

  2. Assalamualaikum dear sister, Mashallah a great poem from which kids and adults alike can learn alot! I too like the kids clothing designs and Ameen to your dua. Jazakiallah Khair for the well wishes regarding the Rihla, I was waiting for another one of your ‘Streets of Madina’ posts so that I could comment regarding our acceptance, since I can’t wait to be on those blessed streets again soon! Inshallah you will be able to meet my sister along with the rest of the sisters from our side of the pond… I know a couple of her friends will also be attending.
May Allah azawajal forever keep the hearts of the believers connected to that blessed city, as that blessed city contains the hearts desire, salallahualaihiwasalam.
