And You provide sustenance for whomever You will, without measure. (3: 27)
Allah is the One who created the heavens and the earth, and sent down water from the sky, bringing forth fruits thereby as provisions for you….(14:32)
Daily this brother arrives just after Ishraq with fresh produce from the local farms and begins setting up his “corner shop”! Patiently unloads the boxes from his pickup truck, prepares the tubs with plastic bags and then arranges the vegetables into these artistic displays.
My kind of shopping! Simple uncongested aisles, no searching for a trolley, fresh air, natural lighting, no hidden costs to cover for expensive overheads, everything a simple SR5, his "office" and cool store parked beside him and selling vegies that still have a true taste.
Once the afternoon sun hits this side of the street he simply moves business to around the corner!
The bananas would be imported and weighted according to your selection!
The day after this was taken he had the first corn of the season. Crisp and crunchy and so sweet.
Such simplicity resonates with peace and contentment; qualities that seem lost amidst sophistication.
Eat of good things We have provided for you….( 20:81)
JUMA’AH MUBARAK!
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Crisp and sweet indeed, like your beautiful writing
I live amid farms in a small town, and there are many roadside stands where fresh produce is sold picked right from the land. It is indeed a blessing from Alah.
Ya Haqq!

So tempting are the fruits - just like everything about al-madinah al munawarra. The colours of the fruits are so beautiful -
only the fortunate ones can shop and eat these things. The arranagment of the fruits would take pride in any fruit festival.
Sister - your last couple of posts have been very good and informative. I pray to the almighty that he invites me again to the
beautiful city and I can say very clearly, that my next visit will be better thanks to the knowledge that emanates from your
heart and fingers. salams

Jummah Mubarak.
It seems that we are increasingly required to be vigilant about one’s sustenance. Your post is a reminder that simple foods are the most wholesome for the body and soul. May Allah subhana ta’ala give us all the tawfiq to consume that which helps elevate us and increases us in remembrance.
Looking forward to next dose of medicine from the Mubarak sister in Madinah.
Jazakallah Khair,
love & dua’s

Assalamu alaikum,
Dear brothers and sisters decorating the comment space with your sprinkles of delights! My constant gratitude to Allah Ta’ala for all He gifts us, including all your kindly words. How beautiful brother Irving to be living near fresh produce, truly a blessing in this time when so much of what we consume is processed with all sorts of foreign ingredients which we have no clue about. Picturing you living near farms stirs many wonderful memories in my “archives”
Insha’Allah brother Mohamed you will be invited to return soon. Alhumdulillah for He is the only One with Knowledge, may He lead us all to that which is beneficial, and give us benefit through what He has revealed to us of His Knowledge. May He make our knowledge evidence in our favour and not a proof against us, and may He give us the desire and stamina to seek His Knowledge till the grave. The little I post is but a drop compared to the knowledge granted to so many of our esteemed scholars. May we be blessed with their teachings.
Umm Yusuf, it is exactly as you say, the stark simplicity is what hits the heart. For me, the soul finds peace in all that is simple and pure, but because most of us live in environments and a time, where the simple is smothered in “sophistication”, for the want of a better word, then the soul easily becomes suffocated with such extraneous “layers”, so when it does see, hear, feel, touch, smell, taste aspects of life in the pure state it triggers a tranquility in the heart…..merely my humble thoughts.
Dear brother Ikramuddin, there are so many sights like this to behold, the last remnants of markets that seem to take one back to how the Manakha must have been during the time of our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, SubhanAllah!
And dear sister HB, Ameen thumma Ameen. May we look at how our Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasllam, his Sahabah RadhiAllahu anhum, and all pious predecessors Rahamatullah alaihi ate, and try to adjust our excesses, even a little, and gently, Insha’Allah! And Du’a from here too! Alhumdulillah for our attached begging bowls we have for each other!
Wassalamu alaikum
