Meant to say that is Miswak is not available then a piece of course cloth can be used, or the finger, with the Niyyah of Miswak to be made. I have been to many small villages throughout the Muslim world where they did not have Miswak, but were diligent with using their fingers, SubhanAllah, and when returning to some of these villages with Miswak, the delight was beautiful to see. We know the immense rewards associated with reviving a sunnah in the times of corruption and chaos are what a beautiful sunnah we find in the Miswak! As you said dear sister "How blessed we are to be of the Ummah of Al-Mustafa SallAllahu alaihi wasallam", where every action, every moment, every breath whether awake or asleep can become a reward if we follow the ways of our Beloved Rasul Salallahualaihiwasalam.
