Ramadhan 1428-11 [Ramadhan 1428] — almiskeenah @ 2:18 am

Crowds surge into this Radiant City in readiness to sit these last ten days in I’tikaf beside our Beloved Rasulullah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. The zealous congregate in the thousands; fasting not only from food and drink but from the comfort of their familiar surroundings, from idle talk, from backbiting, from Dunya and all its temptations and enticements.  Reciting, dhikr, sending salutations, supplicating, offering Taraweh, standing for the two hour Qiyamul Layl, night prayer. A sanctified concentration; praising, glorifying, unswerving.  The only time in the year that Masjid Nabawi is open day and night, for men and women impassioned with seeking, fervent in becoming closer to Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem, Al-Malik, Al-Quddus, As-Salam, Al-Mu’min. The Inspirer of Faith, inspire us all. Al-Ghaffar, The Forgiver, forgive us all, Al-Ghafur, The Hider of our faults, overlook our weaknesses and shortcomings, for what hope do we have on relying on our tainted deeds. As-Salam, The Saviour, Ya Rabb save us from all dangers, from Your Fire, deliver us to the peace and security of Your Garden.

This most Mubarak place in the entire Universe abuzz with the constant repetition of our Holy Scripture, sent down from the Preserved Tablet during this time. Vibrating hearts, tranquility caressing souls. Eagerly awaiting for the Night better than a thousand months.

This Luminous Sanctuary is replete with indelible reminders.  How our Beloved Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam lowered his Mubarak forehead in the Mubarak mud of his Masjid, imploring His Lord Subhanahu wa Ta’ala for mercy for his Ummah, pleading on our behalf for our protection, for our guidance, for our deliverance during his seclusion. The best of creation SallAllahu alaihi wasallam performed sujood on muddy clay searching for, and finding Laylatul Qadr. The soul cries. Tears could never be enough to express our love for our Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam and all that he sacrificed for us.

I find I need to devote a more concerted effort in honouring these last ten days of this most blessed month, already two-thirds gone.

May you and yours be ardent seekers.

Insha’Allah we will meet again very soon, welcoming the Night of Rewards, and Eid.

Meanwhile enjoy some crunchy juicy Madian dates for Iftar, followed with some refreshing Madian mint tea after Taraweh!

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.
