Assuredly, you are of a most excellent character. (68:4)

Resplendent behind locks and grills
forged on the blacksmiths anvil.
Swirls and spirals surround your hujrah,
Just as swirls of salutations spiral from around the globe
Forged from hearts passionately drunk with your pristine light.
An eminence no barriers can conceal.
A fragrance impossible to suppress
as multitudinous angel wings
sprinkle the earth and heavens
with an impregnated dust more precious than the entire creation.
O Allah! Caress the Taj of mankind, crowned by the qubba green.
O Allah! Bless the flag bearer of righteousness whose name You inscribed on Your Arsh.
O Allah! Shower Your favours on Your treasure whose name accompanies Yours in Salat, in the Adhan, in the Kalimah.
O Allah! Bestow Your choicest praises on the one You have honoured in Your Sacred Speech,
O Allah! Adorn Your Beloved, the first to ever be blessed by Your first ever blessing.
O Allah! Raise Your Habib to a station far beyond the leaves of the tress in Your Garden that bear his name.
O Allah! Glorify Your messenger, the spirit of justice, the bringer of peace, wisdom and truth, the paragon of all virtues.
O Allah! Unlock the shackles that hinder our closeness to Your shining star.
Our Lord! We believe in what You have Revealed and we follow the Messenger, so write us down among those who bear witness. (3:53)
O Allah! Imprint the name of Your illustrious one in our hearts just as he has Your name embellished on his.
O Allah! Bless us with an intimate nearness. Ameen, Ameen, Ameen.

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Shall I call thee the Cheiftain or the Leigelord and Master?
I shall call thee the most beautiful flower in Abraham’s garden!
Of wretched fate am I, thou art my place of refuge
I shall call thee the soul of my desire, the mine of my aspirations!
Shall I call thee the many-hued rose of the holy rose-garden?
I shall call thee the comfort of the besotted nightingale’s anguish!
I give preference to the Eve of Separations over a morn spent in one’s homeland[1]
I shall call thee the helper of the helpless, the one with flowing tresses!
By God! The radiance of thy glowing body
O soul of my soul, I shall call thee the soul of all radiance!
Shall I say a spotless tulip or a perfect full moon?
I shall call thee a thornless rose of a decorated bower
I am a criminal, now shall I make preparations for my forgiveness O’ King?
That is I shall call thee the Intercessor of the Day of Judgement
I shall give my lifeless heart the good news of eternal life
I shall call thee the power and strength of the Messiah’s soul!
Thy qualities are free from every kind of flaw
I am perplexed my Lord, at what I shall call thee!
The silence of the singer of his praises says everything!
I am become silent after saying, “What shall I call thee?”
But Raza hath reached the peak of poetry with these words:
I shall call thee the Slave of the Creator, the Lord of Creation!
notes: [1] Sham e Ghariban: literally Evening or Night of Strangers [or of the Poor]. It is the common name given to the last night, i.e. the 9th of Muharram, which Imam Hussain and his 72 companions spent at Karbala before being martyred the following day.
Translation of Sayyidi Ala Hadhrats “sarwar kahuN ke mālik o maulā kahūN tujhe”.

Assalamu alaikum, JazakiLlahu khairan katheeran for sharing such sublime sentiments dearest Bheti! “The soul of all radiance” truly makes the heart explode! And to dear brothers “I”…. once more…JazakumuLlahu khairan for your frequent conversations…they mean so much to this humble speck sitting behind an inanimate screen sometimes wondering why do I do this….may “the soul of radiance” SallAllahu alaihi wasallam radiate throughout cyberspace giving some meaning to why we all sit behind such screens.
