Assalamu alaikum
True, Ukhti Farah....SUBHANALLAH!!!
Dear Brother Ikramuddin...so many goosebumps accompanied by invocations, sighs, yearning, sobbing...Ameen thumma Ameen to be the recipients of such an honour.
Dear Umm Fatimah, JazakiLlahu khairan for your beautiful sharing...the idea of compiling a book based on the first time one came into the presence of the Abode of Peace would be a wonderful idea. Dear Umm Farouq, your moving words could be amongst the first entries...JazakiLlahu khairan...the length of time alone with ones beloved seems to have no consequence when the passions are a flamed. How many zillions of hearts are left here? And indeed "what a perfect Deen"!
Dear Irving Darvish, as always the essence beaming from your rays of love is what is reflected back, Masha'Allah! A thousand seeds of gratitude for your company!
Dear Sister Shahida, Ameen thumma Ameen for your Du'a and for the quote...I would only change one thing...He SallAllahu alaihi wasallam IS the greatest geniuses the world has ever known. Your name is one of the many permanently and indelibly on my list...aling with another sister sharing the same name, with me usually adding the qualifying country you are respectively from.
Wassalamu alaikum

Your words also remind me of my time there. Only two days...not enough. I wanted to plant my feet there and not move. I lost all track of time, hunger/thirst, and most of all, the dunya just whirled away and all that was -- was worship and love and Medina. What an amazing place, what a perfect deen.

Ameen, thumma Ameen to your beautiful dua…you make this stone heart melt. With every post ever more beautiful then the last; your words demand the heart to break-down in yearning for the Beloved!

I found this quote, and thought I’d share with you all:

KAREN ARMSTRONG: I think he’s an example of huge courage and commitment, an example of what one person can do with the help of the sacred, with the help of the divine, but with your own human inspiration too. Above all that he remained kind, human, warm, loving. He did not allow himself to become a daunting human being of daunting achievements. He must be one of the greatest geniuses the world has ever known, both spiritually and politically, yet he was also a genius at humanity. I think of his kindness to his wives, his kindness to children, his loving care of animals, his devotion to his companions, and the fact that he was constantly moved to tears when he saw suffering. Never in any moment of his life did he cease to be less than a human being.

May Allah bless you dearest sister. May He increase your love for The Habib ever more.

Take Care,

Shahida

PS. If it isn’t too much trouble; may I request my humble salutations to be conveyed to Prince of Madina?

Salaam Alaikum Dearest Sister:

Ameem! Ameen! to your heart-rending and beautiful prayer. My heart is with you, and it is in tears. Please convey its love to the Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.

You said: "This pinnacle of gentleness is shared with all who pass by, all who are magnetized to this most blessed piece of earth from the aggregate of all that Allah Ta’ala has willed. And in the pristine silence accompanying raised hands, lowered heads, cheeks smeared from weeping, it seems that mankind becomes one."

This is what I feel when reading your sublime words. May Allah bless you, dearest Sister, and ever increase your love and wisdom, expressed so beautifully by your pen that writes only love.

Ya Haqq!

SubhanAllah... this entry reminded me of my first visit to Al Madinah...*sigh*
How can I ever put into words the emotions I went through when entering the City of our Beloved Prophet SalAllahu Alaihi Wasallam, and on seeing the minarets that seem to touch the sky and the green dome that is so simple yet so beautiful. No words can fully do justice to the ethereal quality that the illuminated City has.

I had expected a whirlwind of emotions, but I was not prepared for the intensity of them. I don’t think I could have sufficiently prepared for what I felt when I first saw the green dome, when I first walked towards Masjid Nabawi, during my first prayer there, and definitely not for what I felt at the Rawdah. SubhanAllah. As I made my salaam at the green dome, I felt peace overpower me and a strong presence of our Beloved SalAllahu Alaihi Wasalaam.

The moments spent in the Rawda of the Prophet SalAllahu Alaihi Wasallam were moments from another world. Spending time in his blessed company SalAllahu Alaihi Wasallam. Tears flowed naturally here, hard hearts melted; arrogance wilted. Minutes seemed like days. Everyone longs for their beloved. I was at home here. Shaykh Muhammad al Ya'qoubi says ‘We go to him, peace be upon him, with no knowledge and no claims – except with the claim that we love him, peace be upon him.’ My feelings are conveyed far more eloquently than I ever could in the poem of the great scholar Shaykh Ibn Hajar Al-‘Asqalani:

By the gate of your generosity stands a sinner, who is mad with love,
O best of mankind in radiance of face and countenance!
Through you he seeks a means [tawassala], hoping for Allah’s forgiveness of slips;
from fear of Him, his eyelid is wet with pouring tears.
Although his genealogy attributes him to a stone [hajar],
how often tears have flowed, sweet, pure and fresh!
Praise of you does not do you justice, but perhaps,
In eternity, its verses will be transformed into mansions.
My praise of you shall continue for as long as I live,
For I see nothing that could ever deflect me from your praise.

Assalamualaikum dearest sister,
Subhanallah!! The images of The Dome of Felicity and that 'pillar of light' of a minaret gave me goose bumps!

Ya Raab!! What honour is there besides that which You Bestow? Honour us Ya Allah with the company of Your Beloved Salallahualaihiwasalam, in Your Infinite Presence, Ameen.
Jazakiallah Khair dearest sister.
