transformation [Makkah al-Mukarramah] — almiskeenah @ 9:42 pm

All that dwells upon the earth is doomed to die. But the Face of Your Lord, majestic and splendid will abide forever.  (55:27)

Live in the world as a stranger or a traveler.

These were the ‘anchors’ that assisted my focus as I wandered in what seemed a sci-fi movie of surreal proportions to where the previous Masaa was being relegated to history.

Deafening sound effects of gorging monster machines swirled dust as they crumbled and spat the sacred land that long ago witnessed the pounding feet of a mother desperate for the life of her thirsty baby. How far removed from the harsh arid land our blessed Hajar Alaihas Salam and beloved son Ismail Alaihis Salam were left by Ibrahim Alaihis Salam.

Looking into a roofless Masaa from the second level at the Marwa end.

The exterior facade of the new Masaa taking shape.

The Royal Palace sits on Abu Qubais to the left with the Abraj al Bait Towers looming in the background to the right, while the noble house of our Lady Khadijah RadhiAllahu anha and our Blessed Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam (an excavated view below, before it was finally covered over) lies under the jumble of equipment in the foreground of the above photo.

One of the decorative medallions inscribed with Muhammadur RasuluLlah about to be demolished.

A few days later when only mountains of rubble remain of the old Masaa.

The length of new three storey plus basement Masaa emerging.

All of this area, plus the land made available by the demolition of hundreds of the older adjacent buildings will eventually be incorporated into an extended prayer space.

A model showing the new extension which is the segment to the top of the existing shape of Haram.

While solace comes from:

All that dwells upon the earth is doomed to die. But the Face of Your Lord, majestic and splendid will abide forever.  (55:27)

Live in the world as a stranger or a traveler.

Insha’Allah, more to follow in the next few posts from this time in Makkah.

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

I love the picture of the Ka’bah at the top of this post.
It really does seem to be destruction,construction..over and over.

Dear Umm Yusuf, the Dunya reality is that the Haramain will be like this for years to come…while the only TRUE reality is as you have said! Alhumdulillah!
Dear Brother Ikramuddin, my heart is already planning to be there again…missing the spirituality of the Ka’abah, even though to be back in this City of Radiance is sublime also! Greedy me…tut tut.
Ameen Ameen Ameen Dear Sister Suhaa. May it be accepted by all who are invited to the Honourable House.
Dear Al Faruq, I have huge ones of a proposed plan for Madinah, but only the ones posted in previous posts for Makkah.
Dear Irving Darvish…the crashing and bashing is on going, and I guess the challenge with any situation is how to maintain the inner peace regardless of what may be surrounding us. I do not foresee a halt in the changes in Makkah or Madinah for decades…maybe never as there will always be some new developments. Allahu ‘alum. May Jannah be our goal!!! Insha’Allah where peace will be guaranteed. May we all strive for this end, Ameen.
    Wassalamu alaikum

  12. Assalamu Alikum…
It has been a reason given by the government all these years… in the name of Haram expansion their main aim had been to tear down & demolish anything and everything relating to the Master of Mankind, Mercy to Makind, Sayyedna Mustafa, Khataman Nabi, Rahmath-ul-Alameen, Muhammad-e-Rasool Allah (sal). What is left today ? RIght from the birth palace till the Holy Rawdha, everything has been kept under dark. What are they even thinking?

The world will shine only on the day, WHEN THE BLESSED RAWDHA OF THE HOLY PROPHET (SAL) IS OPENED TO LIGHT.

Great work .. do reply my email.

  13. Wa ‘alaikumus Salam
    Dear Brother Ali,
I do not think any of us can answer what the ‘authorities’ here were thinking, or are thinking. One day all will be answerable to the King of kings. A respected Wali here in Madinah says that the Rowdha is always LIGHT and that it is our own darkness that cannot see this. And Allah the Almighty knows best. Our only and greatest weapon is Du’a. Please INCREASE all efforts for the Deen to return to the Haramain as it has been delivered to us by our Noble Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, Ameen.
    Wassalamu alaikum
