Wa 'alaikumus Salam Dear Irving Darvish, a very apt word for the desert around here. I often ponder on how Allah Ta'ala sent so many Prophets to such a harsh and arid environment, turning their focus to only Him without the distractions of all the magnificent foliage and blooms and sweet chirping birds common in greener climes. There is a certain charm that envelopes one in these great expanses of brittle bushes and course rubble, where the night creeps with such a silence leaving one with either the fear of desolation or the opposite, to totally submit...
Dear Faqir, yes comment by using an email that I can respond to. Du'a continues :)
Ahlan Wa Sahlan Dear Umm Ibrahim...this was yesterday a little way north west of Madinah...we have been having strange weather..gusty, trying to rain a few spots, which seems to be compounded once one is out of the city area. Still awesome, Alhumdulillah. The gnarled trees are like amazing sculptures. Alhumdulillah for your blog presenting us with more insights to life in the Kingdom, along with Sister Suhaa so close by. Do you come to Madinah often?
*giggle* Ya Ukhti Farhanah...yes...first trying to fly to near you to attend a VERY special wedding...then down under for a quick visit...practice flights for heaven!!! Actually it was so exhilarating! The wind howling under the abaya making an incredible noise reminiscent of wind in sails...getting rid of cobwebs at the same time :)
Wassalamu alaikum

Assalaamu alaikum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakaatuh,

Discovered your blog today via Suhaa's blog. :) Love the pictures masha'Allah - looks pretty blustery over there in Madinah... was this recent? My favourite is the penultimate photo of the lone tree standing there, masha'Allah. Looking forward to reading more of your blog insha'Allah. Umm Ibrahim
