O my God, don’t leave me in the hand of this unreliable self.
Don’t make me agree with anyone but You.
I run to You from deceits, troubles of ‘myself’,
I am Yours.
Don’t give myself back to me.

The Story of the Acceptance of “AH!”
A certain saintly man used to always perform his Salat with the congregation in the masjid. One day as usual he went to the masjid for Salat but as he reached the door he heard the voice of the Imam saying: “Assallamu alaikum Wa Rahmatullah” indicating that the congregational Salat had ended. He was so filled with sorrow with the realization that he had missed this Salat that he sighed: “AH!” It was such a sigh that came from the depths of his heart.
Inside the masjid was another saintly man who had spiritual insight. When he came out from the masjid he saw a shining light that went straight to the ‘Arsh of Allah Ta’ala. He discovered that the Nur was the sigh of the man who had missed the congregational Salat. He said to the pious one: “Dear Brother, give me that ‘AH!’ and in exchange accept my Salat which I performed with the congregation.”
The saint at the time did not understand the true value of his ‘AH!’ and exchanged it for the Salat with Jamaat.
That night the other saintly man saw a dream where a voice from Heaven said to him: “O man, you have purchased and acquired the water of life, the water of health and have made a very good exchange in getting that ‘AH!’ because that sigh was uttered in the fullest sincerity. And through this transaction you have made Allah Ta’ala has accepted the Salats of all mankind of the present time.”
And such is the power of repentance, from humbleness and lowliness to acceptance if we have sorrow, grief and remorse as we cry to Allah Ta’ala seeking His forgiveness and pardon. And may we not look down upon anyone. Who knows if the greatest sinner repents with such sincerity and presence of heart that this repentance becomes superior to all his other deeds, with blessings reaching where only Allah Ta’ala Wills.

O Allah! Forgive us and turn to us mercifully, surely You are the Oft-Returning, the Merciful.
O Allah! Forgive and overlook what You know about our deeds. You are the Most Respectful and Most Gracious, the Most Forgiving and Kind Who loves forgiveness, so kindly forgive us.
O Allah! Turner of hearts, turn our hearts to Your obedience. O Director of hearts, keep our hearts steadfast to Your religion.
O Allah! Verily our hearts, our forelocks, our limbs are in Your Hand. You have given control over any one of them. When You have ordained so in our case You alone be our Protector and guide us to the even way.
O Allah! Show us the Truth as Truth and render us help to follow that, and show us falsehood as falsehood and help us to avoid that.
O Allah! Endow us with Your Love and the love of Your Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam, and the love of that which is beneficial for us in Your Eyes.
O Ever-Living and Self-Subsisting! Unto Your mercy do we appeal and ask forgiveness.
O our Lord! We ask repentance; set right all our affairs and entrust us not, even for the twinkling of an eye to ourselves, for if You entrust us to ourselves You surely are entrusting us to weakness, faultiness, sin and offence.
O Allah! Nothing is easy save that which You make easy, and You make the difficult easy whenever You like.
There is no god beside Him, Pure is He, the Master of the Highest Throne. Praise is for Him only, the Lord of all the worlds.
JUMA’AH MUBARAK!
….one that runs to Him from deceits and troubles of ‘one’s self’!
Insha’Allah.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.
