Our Blessed Rasulullah SallAllahu alaihi wasallam said:
The value of this world in comparison to the Hereafter is as if you dip a finger in the ocean and then pull it out. So see how much water remains on it.
Whoever prefers this world harms his share of the Hereafter, and whoever prefers the Hereafter harms his share of this world. So prefer that which will last forever to that which will last forever to that which will come to an end.
When someone dies, the angels ask about what he sent ahead of him, and the children of Adam ask about what he left behind.
…to be continued, Insha’Allah. All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Assalamualaikum dearest sister,
Subhanallah! Where did you get those magnificent images of Baqi Gharqad from yesteryear? Simply amazing.
Were you able to confirm the reasoning behind why there are 2 stones at the graves? As far as I’ve been able to find out, what we had previously discussed is true for the Grave Site at Makkah Al Mukarramah but not for Baqi.
One of our Shuyukh once mentioned that our destinies are such that we are buried in the soil from which we were originally fashioned. What an honour for those who had been fashioned from the soil of Baqi!
May Allah Ta’ala open all our hearts to see understand the fleeting nature of this Dunya, ameen.

Peace be upon you, home of the believers. You are the ones who preceded us, and inshaAllah we will follow you.
O Allah dont deprive us of their rewards and dont expose us to fitnah after them. And forgive us and them. Ameen.
May Allah be pleased with them all.
My husband and I visited a local graveyard today, such a great reminder for how life is short and death is near. Your duas that our death and our living be written in al Madina. Ameen.
Please remember us in your precious du’as.

wa ‘alaikumus Salam Wa Rahamatullahi Wa barakatuhu Dear Brother Ikramuddin. There is a book in Arabic by a local Saudi brother, Hatim TaHa, called Baqi Gharqad which covers so much about this blessed garden, including many old photos. He has also published several other volumes about this Enlightened City. I have asked several people about the two/one stones on the graves and it seems the consensus is that one stone represents a male and two a female, and Allah Ta’ala knows best. JazakumuLlahu khairan for the narration about the soil, oh to be from that Mubarak earth. Ameen thumma Ameen to your poignant Du’a, so crucial to how we conduct ourselves in this temporary existance.
Ameen thumma Ameen Dear Umm Fatima, and JazakiLlahu khairan for sharing these touching words from our Beloved SallAllahu alaihi wassalam. You and yours locked in my Du’a
So true Dear Umm Yusuf…the heart is magnetized similar to a deep dhikr session, the body transfixed.
Ameen thumma Ameen Dear Sister in Islam and Umm-e-Shiraaz..the tears well considering the illustrious ones residing there, may you be called again and again., and you and yours all remian in my Du’a. May we all accept how our Du’a is accepted by the One Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, Ameen.
Wasslamu alaikum

Subhan Allah from me also! When I was there, I decided to be a bit rebellious and sing a qasida. I really belted out one of Sheikh Abdurrahman Al Shaghouri’s (Shadhili) fine odes in full view of the Saudi overseers there. One came up and started staring at me, but didn’t say anything or stop me. It was either the baraka of the qasida, or my white American skin that kept them from molesting me. Either way, the land seemed happy to hear a voice cry out in praise.

Assalamu alaikum Dear Baba, this is beautiful! I am sure the land and the residents are still rejoicing! Insha’Allah may more and more offer such praises. JazakumuLlahu khairan for sharing this…do come back soon for another rendition
Insha’Allah I intend to add more about Baqi Gharqad.
Wassalamu alaikum
