Construction 12 [Construction 12] — almiskeenah @ 10:46 pm

Standing on the raised viewing walkway that extends out from the fence on the western and northern sides of Baqi Ghraqad one can see the progress being made on the courtyard extension. It is amazing to see how much has been achieved in the past fifteen months, from the initial excavations.

Mu’ath ibn Jabal reported that our Beloved Messenger of Allah SallAllahu alaihi wassalam said to him: "O Mu’ath, a believer in this world is like a prisoner. He knows well that he is watched. He acknowledges that his hearing, sight, tongue, hand, foot, stomach and sexual organ are under constant scrutiny. Even his glimpses and glances or whatever he gazes upon is recorded, even should he be looking at the droppings of a bird, or beautifying his eyelids with kohl. Every minute of striving he endures is closely watched. A true believer cannot trust the constancy of his own heart. There is nothing that can calm his ultimate concerns, and even then, he does expect to meet his death at any moment. Thus, his own piety becomes his observer, the Qur’an his guide, fear of wrongdoing his proof, nobility his trade, caution his companion, awe his mark, prayers his cavern, fasting his shield of protection, charity his relief, truthfulness his attendant, chastity his commander, and behind all of that stands the glory of his Lord to watch over his performance. O Mu’ath, knowing the revealed Qur’an has subdued the believer’s desires and wants, and by God’s leave, the Qur’an stands to save him from his possible demise. O Mu’ath, I love you for what I love myself, and I have conveyed to you what the archangel Jibreel Alaihis salam, has told me. If you recognize that, I do not know anyone who will be happier than you when you meet me on the Day of Resurrection and enjoy the excellence God Almighty has brought out of you.

Directly behind all this concrete and steel is the Mubarak earth caressing and protecting the blessed inhabitants of Jannatul Baqi, with Jabal Uhud’s loving gaze adding to the calm. This fleeting Dunya transience awaits That Day when hearts will amorously swoon at the sight of our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wassalam. How much have we been an observer? How much have we accrued that earns a place in the Eternal Garden? What have we constructed that will take us to Him Subhanahu wa Ta’ala?

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

Dear Ukhti Farah…as I was standing there taking in all the massive planning, engineering, manual and mechanical skills on one side while the destructing and decomposing of bodies was the action on the other side it made me wonder, with many questions.
Dear Veiled Muslimah, JazakiLlahu khairan. The Hadith is from Imam Abu Na’im al-Asfahani (948-1038 AD) Hilyat-ul Awliya Wa Tabaqat al-Asfiya.
    Wassalamu alaikum
