thunder, lightning and lightening [Ramadhan 1429] — almiskeenah @ 11:57 pm

On the eve of the ninth Ramadhan night, the Madani sky treated all to a display of grandeur of lightning. Dramatic electrical effects pierced the sky throughout Taraweeh, accompanied by an intermittent swirling wind that billowed the array of fabrics in the courtyard into a sea of wavy colours. While today the theatrics in the sky played a booming symphony of rolling thunder with a stunning backdrop of clouds portraying a monochromatic theme. Allahu Akbar! The Qudrat of Al-Khaliq Subhanahu wa Ta’ala reducing His Makhlooq to mere specks in His Grand Scheme.

Flashes of lightning travelling at 60,000 metres per second and thunder bellowing out soinc shock waves indelibly imprint on one’s heart the delicate impermanence of our existence. A stark reminder while we are fasting.

To allow the heart to be flooded and thus cleansed and emptied of all that is not conducive to that which will gain an entry to The Garden. A purifying that leads to filling the heart with contemplation and remembrance. Taking the metaphor of the power of the stormy energy to likewise empower our inner spiritual energy over and above our carnal desires.

To the south of Madinah is Jabal Eyr, symbolic of the Gate of Jahannam. During this month we are offered the means of escaping the fate of even remotely coming near the smoke of this Hellfire. Insha’Allah time is devoted to begging for this freedom. The Shayateen are chained to assist our resolve in attaining the maximum rewards.

So grow in obedience. Increase the love of all Divine Commands. Turn all aspirations to earning the keys to the Gate of Jannah, and specifically Ar-Rayyan, symbolized by Jabal Uhud.

And irrespective of the nature of the storms that may be encountered, the heart remains steadfast without wavering, as the minarets of Masjid Nabawi. Sentinent reminders of our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam and how he taught us to conduct ourselves throughout this month.

Rush to Salat.

Burn away sins by generously giving in charity.

Increase Salawaat upon our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.

Be intoxicated with the Qur’an.

The most honoured by Allah amongst you are those best in taqwa.   [49:13] Fast for Taqwa to be your companion in the grave.

Draw nearer to Allah Ta’ala by performing optional good deeds, thus receiving the rewards of an obligatory deed at any other time, while being guaranteed seventy extra rewards for every obligatory act at any other time. Be patient, as the promise is Paradise. Feed the poor.

Shake the heart with an internal storm of thunder and lightning, thus lightening the load on the path to Allah Ta’ala, Ameen.

All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.  May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

  4. Wa ‘alaikumus Salam,
Thank you for presence guillermo garciavasquez, even though I am not quite sure what your message is :)
Ameen Ameen Ameen for it to be cool on THAT DAY Dear Racing Zebras!! Actually there was hardly any rain. It seems that street in the photo had the sky pour its entire load just at that place. Reminded me of the Hadith telling that the cloud burst only over the exact place that our Beloved Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wasallam made the Du’a for, SubhanAllah. The days continue to reach into the 40’s http://www.wunderground.com/global/stations/40430.html
The storm was still most enjoyable! Plus if it had really poured down the thousands in the courtyard for Iftar and Taraweeh would have been soaked.
Insha’Allah I will try to fulfill your request with the utmost sincerity Dear Qushayri.
    Wassalamu alaikum
