doors open: dome verdurous
apparitions of distorted imperfections
weave a haze.
squinting through a fractured diamond
shards glint
making the word ‘forbidden’
ripple into an abstract symbol
of an angel’s wing flicking a mirror lake.
Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah Alhumdulillah
for transitional shifts cavorting deep in the soul.
otherwise
how could I keep returning
to be told forbidden, forbidden, forbidden?
abrupt jack hammer repetition
in unison with black fingers rummaging
eyes glaring.
a world stricken with obstacles
so we learn patience.
encased in the husk of burdens
are seeds of blessings
capable of sprouting in a marbled plaza
as luminous pearl drops
colouring existence
while grace crushes words.
emotions percolate
refining the harshness of a moment
by wrinkled lips murmuring
nectar threaded symphonies.
magically all jarring jangling
becomes a humming
scooped by celestials elegant
a delirious myriad gliding
with secrets entwined in silken shawls to
doors open: dome verdurous

THUS…..
Thus spoke the worm to the bug
the once-seeing-blinking sapphire beads are mine.
so the latter in a bug rhythm scuttled to the traces that remained of ostrich fat peppermint gel and almond oil
tinctures rubbed over sagging wrinkly skin
attempting relief from an end as inevitable as
the scorching sun pulverizing rocks to crystal sand
and a humming wind stooping to scatter dust where it was destined
only to be hit by feathers from the very same ostrich who donated the fat
in the hands of one so far from
ripening bananas oozing rubber lush tropical exuberance and salty waves
that would instantly be sweet by one drop from a wide-eyed Damsel
all lost in adoration as they perpetually hymn HIS NAMES
THUS….
street gangs hide under offensive billowing puffs
cavorting as if the breath was distributed free
plucking the world their instrument
haunting beating chanting clapping
jangling the pearls that are still shining lustrous threads weaving
layer upon layer of gossamer
draping pure essence of sanity drops
on all who call from wherever they may be
in this inconspicuous chiaroscuro
mimic of art long ago
when marriage was nectar
and separation more ugly than flesh spewed after futile blasts
on lands inhabited by ones who have forgotten they have forgotten they have forgotten
they have forgotten
the Wisdom revealed
THUS…..
may chimes of remembrance hurtle through the magnetosphere and exosphere and all other mysterious twirling ospheres
of an ever expanding inflated balloon-like tiara
across embroidered domains of orbits orbs comets and blazing sparks deflecting the devils auditory mechanisms
this tiny blimp carries a priceless cargo of
musical reflections of diamond rainbows
coloured tribes and nations
floating with intermittent glances upon the Manual scribed beyond space and time by a ruby encrusted Pen
that once wrote THE NAME that signaled the beginning of the beginning of the road to eternity
and sparked the cherished love flame that burns and binds
all together
THUS….
sang the ant to the bee and the bee to the elephant and the elephant to the date and the date to the river and the river to the blossom and the blossom to the hoopoe and and and
you to me and me to you
and us to us
and us to them and them to others
until the entire creation swoons in a swaying ecstatic ripple
S-U-B-H-A-N-A-L-L-A-H S-U-B-H-A-N-A-L-L-A-H S-U-B-H-A-N-A-L-L-A-H
THUS…
where are you going ya unique and precious one
a heart dripping ambrosia from the One
a soul yearning for a destination embellished and emblazoned
with HIM Jala Jalaalahu
and HIS SallAllahu alaihi wasllam?
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. May He accept our humble efforts and grant us the capacity to be good and do good. Ameen.

WINDOWS
Eyes see the tangible.
Rotting wood, shadow stitch gauze, sunlit flecks.
A fortification assuming to obstruct the apparent from the Divine.

But, archaic window, your restrictive void
Secretly unlocks desires beyond the tactile and the visible.
An impassioned flare in the heart
Is enough to escape your imprisonment.
Yearning for The One and His Emissary
Release us from the confines of the manifest.
We race to visit a different window, a sublime opening.
Over and over.
Time and time again.
Lovers, as bees to nectar.
Wrapped in robes of faith.
Sparkling beads of hope embellish woven threads of humility.
Icy wind shivers translate into a palpitating buzz.
Beards glisten with sobs of love,
Scarves cling to tear stained cheeks.
Words swirl around domes, arches and chandeliers,
Soaring on feathered wings
As salutations drown the cooing of doves.
Gold adornments tarnish,
Itr rendered odourless,
Lackluster trinkets lie inertly entombed
IN YOUR PRESENCE SallAllahu alaihi wassalam.
A lucid stillness encompasses your silken repose.
Tranquility conceived within the zeal,
Nurtured by ecstatic repetition.
Senses blinded by the unseen.
Your moon-like luminosity renders all barriers invisible.
Blessings and peace be upon you O Messenger of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Prophet of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O beloved of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O friend of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O chosen one of Allah.
Blessings and peace be upon you O best of creation,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Makkan prophet of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Qurayshi Prophet of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Madinian Prophet of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O one whom Allah selected.
Blessings and peace be upon you O the one whom Allah greatened,
Blessings and peace be upon you O vice-regent of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O the one who leads to the presence of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O purest one of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O proof of Allah.
Blessings and peace be upon you O mercy of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O light of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Messenger of Allah,
Blessings and peace be upon you O owner of the crown and the mi’raj,
Blessings and peace be upon you O owner of the Pool and the river al-Kawthar.
Blessings and peace be upon you O possessor of the intercession,
Blessings and peace be upon you O the one who has been blessed,
Blessings and peace be upon you O seal of prophethood and revelation,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Madinian Prophet,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Prophet from the noble sanctuary.
Blessings and peace be upon you O Hijazi Prophet,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Tihami Prophet,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Hashimi Prophet,
Blessings and peace be upon you O Qurayshi Prophet,
Blessings and peace be upon you O purified Prophet,
Blessings and peace be upon you O unlettered Prophet.
A selection from Salatul Akbar: From The Key to Arriving at the Door of the Messenger, Shaykh Muhammad Sadiq Alawi.
This salutation is called Salatul Akbar because it lists the beautiful characteristics of the Prophet Muhammad SallAllahu alaihi wassalam. It is particularly recited by lovers of the Prophet SallAllahu alaihi wassalam and is recommended for the fulfillment of needs.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

WINDOW

Dust diamonds glide as a stream of rainbows mimicking far away stars bursts.
Flimsy specks cavorting in the Madinah midday winter warmth.
Would that this ribbon of floating sparkles sprinkle my face.
With the hope that just one micro fleck
May have once been swirling around the Bringer of Peace,
The Bringer of the Qur’an, the Bringer of Trust, the Bringer of Hope.
SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.
Alchemize the light from our beloved Misbah,
Whose light preceded all creation,
Dressed in the radiance of miracles,
To flow through these ancient slats.
Filtering waves of discordant dross,
Averting all that hinders my seeking
To You and Yours.
Timeless dilapidated window, force the gaze inward.
Veil the seen to reveal the Unseen,
Shutter Dunya desires, gloomily staining the primeval pure.
Peering at abstinence eradicates blemish,
While securing the shine of the inner chalice;
Pristine emptiness full of nothing but
EVERYTHING.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

Sounds
I hear the excited squeals of children playing.
What would Sayyidatuna Fatimah have heard?
Maybe the hungry cries of her blessed children?
I hear the revving, honking, screeching of traffic.
What would AbdurRahman ibn Auf have heard?
Maybe the ambling of 2,000 laden camels entering Madinah?
I hear the swish swish of wood being sawn.

Maybe the rustle of palm leaves being placed on the roof of Masjid Nabawi?
I hear metal gas bottles clanging against the metal truck.

Maybe branches of firewood being thrown from a donkey?
I hear a sudden offensive shrill from a mobile phone.
What would Sayyidatuna Ayesha have heard?
Maybe the sweet voices of Jabir’s sisters reciting Qur’an?
I hear the high pitched whistle of the kettle boiling.
What would Umm Salamah have heard?
Maybe the gurgle of water pouring from a water skin?
I hear the raucous voices of the youth playing soccer.
What would Ibn Abbas have heard?
Maybe the buzz of Dhikr from the Ahl Suffah?
I hear amplified Adhan from thousands of speakers.
What would Abu Sa’id Al-Khudri have heard?
Maybe the melodious voice of Bilal?
I hear the whirring of an engine pumping water to the roof tank.
What would Ali RadhiAllahu anhu have heard?
Maybe the plunk of the bucket sinking deep into the well?

Maybe the Divine chanting of a new revelation?
Maybe the emotional words of the newly enlightened saying Shahadah?
Maybe the blissful sighs of the martyrs in their graves?
Maybe stones, trees, babies, animals, lizard, food, talking to him?
Maybe the sound of mercy rains quenching the valleys of Madinah.
Maybe the whisshh of arrows piercing the air targeting the enemy?
Maybe the sobbing of the palm trunk?
Maybe the water flowing from his Mubarak fingers?
Maybe the whack of the stone, hitting the bottom of Jahannam, after falling for seventy years.
Maybe the rhythmic grinding of Lady Fatimah’s flour mill?
Maybe the grumbling sound of so many empty stomachs?
Maybe the stamping of horses hooves as they train for battle?

I hear the sounds of Madinatun Nabi.
Is our Noble Nabi SallAllahu alaihi wasallam hearing enough Salawaat and Salam from us?
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

Hope.
And when My servants ask you concerning Me, then surely I am very near; I answer the prayer of the suppliant when he calls on Me, so they should answer My call and believe in Me that they may walk in the right way. (2:186)
And they hope for His mercy and fear His chastisement. (17:57)
Their sides draw away from (their) beds, they call upon their Lord in fear and in hope, and they spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them. (32:16)
That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another. And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for. And that his striving shall soon be seen. Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward. And that to your Lord is the goal. And that He it is Who makes people laugh and weep. (53:38-43)
Abu Hurairah RadhiAllahu anhu heard Allah’s Apostle SallAllahu alaihi wasallam saying: “Verily Allah created Mercy. The day He created it, He made it into one hundred parts. He withheld with Him ninety-nine parts, and sent its one part to all His creatures. Had the non-believer known of all the Mercy which is in the Hands of Allah, he would not lose hope of entering Paradise, and had the believer known of all the punishment which is present with Allah, he would not consider himself safe from the Hell-Fire."

Hope.
Shapeless forms
ceaselessly amble
smoothly
on hallowed ground,
humming
wishing words
released by a longing soul
sequestered in a desirous heart.
Sweet whispers
ride the perfumed breeze of Hope
to the Imam of the Ummah.
The embroidered ornament of the Lord of Dominion.
Amorous avarice
for an everlasting intimacy
with the Intimate One,
dominates
our colour palette
of life.
Oh that the seeds of our Hopes
are nurtured
by The All-Hearing, The All-Knowing, The Wise One.
Blooming as garlands manifest
in the Eternal Plain,
nourished by Dhikr
and streams of
Salutations
On our Nabi.
Shapeless forms
ceaselessly amble.
Misty haze
of Hopes dispatched.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.

Imprisoned
Then, when the great Disaster befalls - the Day when man shall remember whatever he had striven for - and Hell shall be laid open for everyone to see, then the one who had rebelled and preferred the life of the world, Hell shall be his home. As for him who had feared to stand before his Lord and restrained himself from evil desires, Paradise shall be his home. (79: 34-41)
Hadith Qudsi:
"O Dunya, whoever serves Me then you serve him.
And whoever serves you enslave him."
Abu Hurairah RadhiAllahu anhu reported Allah’s Messenger SallAllahu alaihi wasallam as saying: "The world is a prison for a believer and Paradise for a non-believer." (Bukhari)
Imprisoned
in the dust of Madinah.
Particles ignite
From the Light of Mustafa.
Decaying walls,
paint falls
from the fragrant breeze
of thousands of celestial wings
Caressing.
Adoring.
Venerating
The Emissary of Virtue.
Metal clangs,
Keys click
Music of this Dunya penitentiary
Muffled
By hymns of Eternal Praise.
Resonance of Adhan
vibrating minarets,
shaking hearts.
Sweetness of Iman
Transforms bland crumbs
Into a succulent banquet.
Melodic murmurings
Of lovers of the Most Loved
From the Lord of Love
Fill my humble cell.
Euphonic waves
Rippling from beyond the gold Wajiha.
Imprisoned.
In a prism
Of dazzling euphoria.
Ya Lateef,
Never release me.

Sun shining on the outside of my prison.
Subhanallah, Shine from the same sun shining on The Most Shining.
Allahumma salli ala Muhammad, Ya Rabbil ‘Aalameen.
Allahumma salli ala Muhammad, SallAllahu alaihi wasallam.

Inside looking out.
All good is from Allah Ta’ala whereas mistakes are from this humble speck. May Allah Ta’ala Bless all readers, bringing you all closer to Him and His Rasul SallAllahu alaihi wasallam. Ameen.
